The director of _Quest for Fire_ creates yet another film in nature with almost no human dialogue in this picturesque story of an orphaned bear cub who is adopted by an adult male bear and must avoid hunters. Bart the Bear stars in this anthropomorphic fantasy.

Set not so long ago in a distant land, the film follows the adventures of twin tiger cubs—one shy and gentle, the other bold and fierce—who are born among the temple ruins of an exotic jungle. However, on a fateful day, the brothers are separated by fate. The bold brother is sold off to a circus, where homesickness and living in a cage rob him of his spirit. Meanwhile, the shy cub becomes the beloved companion of the governor’s lonely young son, until an accident forces the family to give him away to a man who resolves to break his gentle nature and turn him into a fighter for sport. When they are fully grown the brothers find themselves reunited—but as forced enemies, pitted against each other.

Kurt Menliff (Christopher Lee) is a ruthless and sadistic 19th Century nobleman who returns to his seafront castle home after years of wondering and is immediately at odds with his invalid father, a Count, as well as Kurt’s spinless younger brother Christian, whom is married to Kurt’s cousin and former lover Nevenka. When Kurt is found in his room on the next night, murdered, suspicion falls on everyone which gets more complicated when Nevenka begins seeing his ghost (real or imaginary?) haunting the castle supposedly wanting revenge against his killers.

Eight years after his wife was brutally murdered, Alexandre Beck receives an e-mail with images of a woman who, although older, is obviously his wife. Meanwhile, the efficient detective Reda is investigating the attempt of murder of a man called Jesus. They come to the same point along their investigations, join forces with the detective Marie, a specialist in religious matter, and fight against Heinrich von Garten, a German Minister of Culture and Religion, a group of powerful monks.

Germany in the 1970s: Murderous bomb attacks, the threat of terrorism and the fear of the enemy inside are rocking the very foundations of the yet fragile German democracy.
